The Ideas
The Falcon and the Blue Line
The Falcon
For this design, I aimed to create a high-contrast and dynamic theme. The Academy’s mascot, a falcon, perfectly embodied this vision. The falcon flying upward symbolizes the cadets who have just become lieutenants, leaving the Academy to advance their careers.
The Blue Line
The Academy’s concept of the Long Blue Line represents the journey of cadets throughout their education and careers. In this design, the line symbolizes the cadets who have reached graduation and are continuing their journey. I wanted this option to be dynamic and eye-catching while maintaining a more formal tone than the falcon.
The Result
Both themes will be used!
Final decision from Academy’s senior leaders was to use the “Falcon” theme for the program cover and the “Blue Line” for the rest of the products.
